This is another collection of short stories brought to my attention and written by fellow bookworm Anna of Quills and Zebras.
I very recently read and reviewed another collection which included Anna’s work which was Other Sides (Full Review) and it was my enjoyment of that spurred me on to read this new e-book a little quicker then I might usually do. This collection of stories stood out for me because it has that element of creepiness and horror that I do enjoy but with zombies…something I haven’t actually read that much involving so should be interesting. If you fancy getting your hands on a copy of Hungry For You, Other Sides, or even Anna’s earlier work Above Ground why not pop over to Qazyfiction for more information from the author herself.
‘There is no greater drug than relationships; there is no sweeter death than love.”
Love is horrible. It’s ruthless, messy, mind-altering, and raw. It takes no prisoners. It chews you up and spits you out and leaves you for dead. Love is, you could say, very much like a zombie.
In this haunting short story collection, anything is possible—a dying musician turns to tea for inspiration; a police sergeant struggles with a very unusual victim; a young wife is trapped in a house hiding unimaginable evil….’
I must straight away say what a thoroughly refreshing read this collection of short stories were, and there was also a real range of stories even though they all revolved around zombies or the concept of the ‘undead’. Of course there a few stories that I really stuck out for me they included Hungry For You…actually of all of them this is the one I was upset that it was only a short story I wanted to know what happened next?! Others included A Prayer to Garlic, Dead Man’s Rose, The Perfect Song (scary, especially with my own addiction to tea), and Alive. Alive being the story I thought was the most moving, and the one of which I really felt a lot of empathy with, you really don’t need to be a zombie just a straight female to connect instantly with this story. While all the stories of course involve the ‘undead’ they’re are all different degrees of graphic-ness, obviously some more than others describe the actually appearance or actions of the ‘undead’ while others are more about the mental state of the zombies or those left behind. For someone like me who can be rather squeamish, I found the balance was just right, enough detail to horrify but never enough to make me want to run for the hills
To be honest I’m not sure I can do this collection anymore justice than Amanda did over at Opinions of a Wolf, her review really beautifully sums it all up (Amanda’s Full Review).
Hungry For You is an interesting and quick to read collection of stories, which I’d highly recommend if you are a fan of horror, in particular zombies!

Everything is better with zombies ;P I simply love the titles of the stories, they make me want to read the book this minute!
If you love zombies…and you love the titles…you’re probably going to love reading them even more. Go check them out
Thanks Jessica – I know it’s technically frowned upon to comment on a review of your own book, but I couldn’t resist! I’m happy to hear you liked it
Aww its not frowned upon here at all, it is most welcome
I liked the range of stories aspect as well.
Yeah I think it means that the collection will appeal to the biggest range of people, as you’re bound to like atleast one of them. As well as being some diversity for those who are eager to devour the whole lot.
I’m not #teamzombie myself, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the occasional zombie book. And this sounds like a good one
It is certainly not your average zombie book, which means it will appeal to alot more people. Really hope you give it a go.
I’m adding this to my list. Seems like a book that I’ll enjoy.
I’m really glad to hear that
