Good morning, fellow bookworms. We have reached Tuesday and that can only mean one thing: it is time for Top Ten Tuesday! A weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, who each week assigns a new topic to inspires us to create a top ten list based on a it. This week’s topic is:
Favourite Things to Eat/Drink While Reading (submitted by Janaβs mom)
Well I can’t deny I always have a drink, and sometimes some nibbles, to hand when I am reading. So a perfect topic for me.
On colder days, you will find me curled up in a blanket with a:
- Peppermint Tea
- Hot Chocolate
- Camomile Tea
- Hot Water with Honey and Lemon
- A Couple of Biscuits
While on a hot, sunny day you may find me lounging in the garden with a:
- Coke, Ice and a Slice
- Orange Juice and Lemonade
- Chilled Water
- Blackcurrant Squash
- A Bowl of Crisps
Mmm it is making me thirsty and hungry just typing about it! Come back next week for another new topic and list. Bye for now – I think I’m off to make another cup of tea!
However before you go, I would love to hear from you, so tell me what do you like to eat and drink when you are reading?
Definitely hot chocolate in winter. MMMMMmmmmm.
Lynn π
Lynn, I don’t think there isn’t much that is more luxurious than curling up in a blanket with a good book and a steaming mug of hot chocolate :-p
Coffee, coffee and more coffee. I’m not sure I’m capable of reading without coffee… π
Haha FF, all that coffee must be the reason you read so much! I think coffee smells gorgeous but the taste really doesn’t live up to it… π
Hot water with lemon made my list today, too. So refreshing!
Deanna, hot water and lemon is very refreshing and good at keeping those nasty colds and sniffles away too. π
Yes, you’re right!
I am the outlier here. When I read during the day I don’t eat or drink while doing so. But I make myself get up, do some neck rolls, walk around and drink some water so I don’t sit for too long because I have a tricky back. When I read at night before going to sleep, I drink my nightcap, usually vodka.
Ah well if you have a tricky back Judy that sounds like a very good idea to give yourself a walk around and drink to break your sitting and reading up. π
I always have a glass of water close at hand, no matter what I’m doing, including reading. π
Kelly, I am trying to get in the habit of always having a glass or bottle of water to hand. π
I’ve never had blackcurrant squash, but it sounds so good. And tea was on my list, too.
My TTT.
Oh Lydia you need to try blackcurrant squash! The big brand over here in the UK that makes it is Ribena, but I tend to buy the cheaper Blackcurrant 50% Hi Juice squash from Aldi which is almost just as good. π
A cup of Earl Grey with honey and double cream ππ…my weakness!
Ooo Emily, a cup of Earl Grey with honey and double cream is very different! π
Isn’t it? I know…but somehow it is marvelous π
I love the sound of it, but being lactose intolerant that double cream would be very naughty for me to have π
Ohhh, I see π
I usually go for coffee or tea. For snacks mostly either chocolate or candy.
Hello Mir, thank you for stopping by and commenting π I think coffee smells amazing but the taste doesn’t lives up to the gorgeous smell! However a nice cup of tea and some chocolate sound very good!
Hot chocolate seems a favourite with a few bloggers! It’s a difficult drink to get right (or at least I find it diffcult) – either not strong and chocalatey enough or too thick and overpowering
Yes, I can imagine hot chocolate is a favourite. I must admit I never make it from scratch myself – I either use the Cadburys pods in our Tassimo machine or the instant hot chocolate powder I get from Aldi is pretty good too. π
