Hello everyone and a blessed Easter Sunday to you all. I hope this post finds you all well. In defiance of the ‘pandemic-that-shall-not-be-named’ this has been a beautifully warm and sunny week. Let’s now reflect back on what we’ve been reading, watching and doing over this lovely week:
This week, I have been enjoying reading the romantic science-fiction, River Rising by John A. Heldt out in the garden. This first book in Heldt’s latest time-travelling series, Carson Chronicles, follows the five, modern Carson siblings as they travel back to an America of bustle dresses, gunslingers, and 
robber barons in search of their missing parents. A slower read than I expected, but it has been a nice, light read in the sunshine. 😎
I have also continued to dip in and out of The Favourite: Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough by Ophelia Field, a history of the life of controversial favourite of Queen Anne – One night this week, I got on quite a roll and read quiet a good chunk of this beasty tome. As it is Holy Week, I have blessedly, increased my Holy Bible reading: dipping into Daniel and Lamentations in the Old Testament, and the Passion sections of Matthew and Luke in the New Testament.
Whilst on the screen, I watched episode one of Britain’s Easter Story, a two-part special, where choirmaster, Gareth Malone and gospel choir conductor, Karen Gibson travel round the UK to uncover the stories, music and traditions 
of this most important Christian festival, both today and in the past. I look forward to watching episode two later today.
Having finished Stranger Things 3 last week, this week, I switched back to NowTV to watch the season three boxset of the sexy-ass vampire drama, True Blood, and I have continued to slowly work my way through the back catalogue of one of my favourite shows: the British archaeological series Time Team, on All4.
This week, even though I wouldn’t have been at work anyway, it has actually been the first week of the school’s Easter break, here in the UK. So I have forced myself to step away from my planning and from checking my work 
emails, to make sure I actually have a proper break, even though I won’t be going anywhere! I have continued to relax with more time for books, cooking, TV, relaxing yoga; sunbathing; live-streams from my church; and jogging.
While here on the blog, I took part in the weekly meme, WWW Wednesday; shared my round-up of my March viewing and posted my link-up post for the Daphne du Maurier Reading Week.

Hubby and I have been watching The UK show Restoration Home on and off this week. Today’s weather is actually quite lovely here too, though I haven’t been outside yet.

Yes, we have also been having wonderful weather, and I’ve also been enjoying the sunshine. I think it’s a really good idea to give yourself some days off – one of the snares of working from home is not giving yourself sufficient downtime.
S.J, it is great to hear you’ve found it warm enough to enjoy time outside, too. But it is not me giving myself time off from working from home, it really is my holiday as I work in a school, so we are currently in the middle of the two week, Easter break. In fact, our headteacher told us to take the time to rest as we would pandemic or not anyway.
Ah, sorry about the assumption! So I really hope that you have a lovely relaxing time – you have earnt it!

Sweet kitty in the grass! I am glad you are enjoying reading outdoors. Our weather isn’t quite where it needs to be for that, I’m afraid. Hopefully soon. River Rising sounds like a fun read. I was working from home: planning and finding work to send home, but it is now the school’s Easter break, so we would have been off pandemic or not anyway . Look how sunny it is… I long to sit out, but it’s been windy and cold here. Today we have a mix of rain and snow. The time travel book has me curious and I’ve got KU right now, so I may dive in. Stay safe and enjoy your week!

Britain’s Easter Story sounds good. Is it on the BBC? I’m so glad churches are still able to provide opportunities for prayer and worship, all be it virtually. We have had recorded messages on our Facebook page for the last four weeks, plus a weekly prayer meeting via Zoom, it’s a great way to keep in contact with each other. Enjoy the rest of Easter weekend.

I just discovered one of my streaming services (Amazon Prime TV) has Trueblood so I think I’d like to watch that one at some point. I loved the books.
