πŸ“š Top Ten Tuesday | My Witchy Halloween Freebie πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ

Hello my fellow bookworms. Today, I am taking part in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! A weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, who each week assigns a new topic to inspires us to create a top ten list based on it. This week’s topic is:

Halloween Freebie

With it being a freebie there is a plethora of ways I could have gone with this week’s topic. In fact, there are almost too many way to go, so that is why I have plumped for what first popped into my mind, which was witches! Because let’s face it, who doesn’t love some witchiness this time of year?!

So here are ten wonderful books that contain some good, some bad and some downright hilarious witches in them:

1. Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett

2. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

3. Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

4. Lords and Ladies by Terry Pratchett

5. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

6. Her Kind by Niamh Boyce

7. Witch Child by Celia Rees

8. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
by J.K. Rowling

9. The Witches by Roald Dahl

10. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

Now over to you: Do you like my choices? What witch books would you have listed?

Also if you have taken part in this week’s TTT topic, too, then please leave a link for your post in the comments below, so I come check it out.

  1. Lovely list Jessica – given that we share quite similar taste in books, and that I’ve read 7 of these – perhaps I should grab copies of the other 3.

  2. I haven’t read a lot of witchy books but with this weeks topic I feel like I’ve discovered a few I want to try! πŸ™‚

  3. I’ll agree with your Narnia choice. The only other witch books that immediately come to mind (that I’ve read) are the Pratchett books about Tiffany Aching. I read one of those this month for RIP!

    1. Kelly, I am pleased you agree with my choice of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I also look forward to reading the Tiffany Aching books one day, soon, hopefully! πŸ™‚

    1. Jo, it is good to hear you enjoyed The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but I am sorry to hear you never got into any of the other Narnia books. If you ever try again, I would recommend sticking with the books that have the Pevensie siblings in: Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I also chose The Prisoner of Azkaban over the other Harry Potter books for this list because it is my favourite! ⚑😍

      1. Unfortunately those were the ones I tried! I don’t know why they didn’t work for me, I just remember getting bored and putting them down about halfway through. It is such a great book, The Goblet of Fire just tips it for me as my favourite because I love the dragons!

    1. Hi Maya, thank you for stopping by and commenting. It is always lovely to hear from a new face, especially a fellow Potterhead ⚑😊 I am glad you really enjoyed The Near Witch by V.E. Schwab – This is a book and author I keep hearing about: I must try them!

  4. Great choices! I’ve read and enjoyed a few of those and would like to read Her Kind too. I did a witchy list for a previous Halloween Freebie, so this year I have just listed books with Halloween-related words in the title.

    1. Thank you, Helen – Glad to hear you have enjoyed a few of these on my list and I thought your list was great, too! I hope you will have chance to read Her Kind sometime soon. πŸ™‚

    1. Jess, it is great to hear you love Witch Child and that Celia Rees was a favourite author of yours in youth, too! I hope you will enjoy A Discovery of Witches when you have a chance to read it. πŸ™‚
