Good morning, fellow bookworms. It is βHump Dayβ Wednesday which means we are halfway through the working week (if youβre at work) and it is time for WWW Wednesday! A weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, which simply involves answering the following Three Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think youβll read next?
~ Currently Reading ~
Now I can give it my full attention, I am making good progress through the classic adventure, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, as I am thoroughly enjoying my time with Professor Aronnax and his companions, on their forced sojourn upon Captain Nemo’s metal leviathan, the Nautilus, in the deep, unknown reaches of our ocean. It is likely I will finish this later today or tomorrow.
I have also started reading Deuteronomy, another difficult Old Testament book, after being inspired by my reading of The Bible Jesus ReadΒ by Philip Yancey.
~ Recently Finished ~
Late last week, I finished working my way back through the book of Job, about the testing of a good, pious man by Satan. While still a difficultΒ Old Testament book, it was good to read it again with some new perspectives, that I got from readingΒ The Bible Jesus ReadΒ by Philip Yancey.
~ Reading Next ~
Next I have a hankering to read The Motherβs Day Mystery by Peter Bartram, which is the next book I have lined up to read from Bartramβs nostalgic crime series, following Colin Crampton, ace crime reporter for the Brighton Evening Chronicle, in the 1960s. This is also off my R.I.P XV reading list.
That’s it for now, folks! All that is left to say is take care, happy reading, and please feel free to share a link in the comments below for your own WWW post, so we can come check it out! I hope to see you again next week for some more bookish chat! πππ
Now I’d love to hear from you: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think youβll read next?
I love 20,000 leagues, Iβve not read it for years but itβs good to hear itβs still being enjoyed!
Great to hear you loved 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, but if it was many years ago now, maybe it is time for a re-read, Heather?! π
I’m glad you’re enjoying 20,000! The idea of sailing through the oceans aboard the Nautilus has always ben appealing. π
Even more appealing with everything that’s been going on this year, Greg! π
