📚 Top Ten Tuesday | Colourful Book Covers to Celebrate Mardi Gras ðŸŽ

Hello my fellow bookworms. Today, I am taking part in this week’s Top Ten Tuesday! A weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, who each week assigns a new topic to inspires us to create a top ten list based on it. This week’s topic is:

Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers

(in honour of Mardis Gras, which is today!)

While we don’t celebrate Mardis Gras here in the UK – instead today is Shrove Tuesday/Pancake Day for us – however it always looks like great fun, and I think we all need more reasons to celebrate in these troubling times. So here is a colourful selection of book covers from my bookshelves:

1. Airs Above the Ground by Mary Stewart

2. But is it Real? by Amy Orr-Ewing

3. Freefall by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams (Tunnels #3)

4. Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James

5. Sourcery by Terry Pratchett (Discworld #4)

6. No God But One: Allah or Jesus? by Nabeel Qureshi

7. O Jerusalem by Laurie R. King (Mary Russell #5)

8. The Moonspinners by Mary Stewart

9. Wicked by Gregory Maguire

10. Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung

I am pleased with the diverse range of genres this collection of book covers managed to include, and I am not surprised to find two of Mary Stewart’s pretty pastel covers managed to make the list, even though I tried not to repeat authors. 😊

For now that’s all folks. Please feel free to share a link in the comments below for your TTT post, so we can come check it out, and I hope to see you again soon for some more lists and bookish chat! 👋📚😃

Now I’d love to hear from you: What do you think of my choices? What purple, yellow and/or green book covers would you have included?

  1. You’ve definitely captured the Mardi Gras spirit with the colors of your book covers!

    Laissez les bons temps rouler!

  2. Goodness, is today really Pancake Day? I’m losing touch with time because of this never-ending lockdown! But fortunately, by sheer coincidence, I just happen to have some maple syrup pancakes on hand… 😀 Happy Pancake Day!

    1. Hey Clemence, I know this brilliant series seems to have been completely forgotten! Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Always lovely to hear from a new face, especially someone who remembers Tunnels! 😃
