☀ My 20 Books of Summer 2022 Selection

20 Books of Summer BannerHello my fellow bookworms, today I am sharing with you my book selection for Cathy’s brilliant 20 Books of Summer 2022 reading challenge, which starts on Wednesday, 1st June 2022, runs all through summer, and ends on Thursday, 1st September 2022. To take part all you have to do is pick 20, 15, or 10 books and get reading!

Now I have to confess off-the-bat that there is little to no chance I will manage to read 20 books, because of this, in previous years, I have chosen just 10 books. This year, however, I am following the example of our host and other bloggers to choose 20 books, but still aiming to read 10. With the logic that the more choice and variety I have to choose from the more likely I am to keep on track and match books to my mood.

Without further ado here is my sizzling selection of summers reads:

Physical Books

Joy and Josephine by Monica Dickens (1958)
Neverending Story by Michael Ende (1979)
Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis (1955)
The Kingmaker’s Daughter by Philippa Gregory (2012)
Soul Music by Terry Pratchett (1994)
Locked Rooms by Laurie R. King (2005)
Brisingr by Christopher Paolini (2008)
Castle Dor by Daphne du Maurier (1961)
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (2003) [re-read]
How to Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting to Kill You by Matthew Inman (2012)
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (1937) [re-read]
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (1997) [re-read]

Kindle Books

Touch Not the Cat by Mary Stewart (1976)
Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë (1847)
The Queen of the Caribbean by Emilio Salgari (1901)
The Lady of the Ravens by Joanna Hickson (2020)
Faith Unraveled by Rachel Held Evans (2010)
Katherine Parr, The Sixth Wife by Alison Weir (2021)
The Black Tulip by Alexandre Dumas (1850)

  1. What a GREAT sounding list! 😄♥️ I don’t have a very specific TBR as I such a moody reader, but I have some huge stacks that I hope to make a dent in! 😄📚♥️

  2. I hope you have fun participating in this event. You look like you have some great books to choose from. I’ve only read The Hobbit and Harry Potter. I hope you enjoy each and everyone of the books you read.

  3. I think your logic makes perfect sense and I bet you’ll read even more than 10. I have a couple of these in my TBR and would like to read a few others. I look forward to seeing which ones you get to!

  4. Listing 20 books but aiming to read 10 sounds like a good idea to me. You should have something to suit every mood there! I hope you enjoy whichever ones you decide to read.

  5. I’ve adopted a similar strategy, choosing 15 books from which I’ll read 10. I’ve never made it to the 20 so this year I’m not even pretending I can do it. Good luck with your choices, yiu have plenty of variety which seems to be the key to success.
