Good day, my friends and fellow bookworms, we are halfway through the week again, so today I am going to be sharing with you what I have been reading over the last week for WWW Wednesday; a great weekly reading meme, hosted by Taking on a World of Words, which simply involves answering the following Three Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think youβll read next?
Now grab a big steaming cup of tea, cocoa or coffee, settle down, get comfy and let’s chat books!
~ Currently Reading ~
π Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (Illustrated Edition 2016) – Each night, I have eagerly been tucking myself into bed to re-read, a chapter or two, of this beautifully illustrated edition of this children’s fantasy novel, which I received for Christmas, about Harry’s second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; with his friends, lessons, enemies, a diary, a monster and Dobby the house-elf. Only a couple of chapters left to go!
Fixated: Advent Meditations from the Book of Hebrews by Tim Chester (2020) – At the end of November, I was very blessed to pick up my free copy of this daily devotional, that my church had ordered in bulk for all of the church family to read in preparation for Christmas. Sadly, I was not able to read this everyday of Advent as I had hoped, however what I have read has really inspired and comforted me, so I have continued to read even though Advent has gone.
~ Recently Finished ~
Nothing! I have very much enjoyed everything I have been reading, but I am doing it at a steady, easy pace so nothing finished, just yet.
~ Reading Next ~
Being in the mood for something comforting, such as a much-loved series or a new book from a much-loved author of mine, I think that next I might pick up The Vanished Days by Susanna Kearsley (2021), an historical-fiction revolving around intrigue and revolution in Scotland of the 1700s, where the exile of King James has brought plots, machinations, suspicion and untold bravery to light.
Now I’d love to hear from you, what have you been reading? Or please feel free to share a link for your own WWW post. And I hope to see you again next week for some more bookish chat! π
Can I admit that I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books?! π
π²
A good steady pace and enjoying the books you’re reading is better than a finished book! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
Thank you, Louisa π
Harry Potter books are some of the few rereads I have done. They make for a wonderful visit. Hope you have a good week. Happy reading!
Thank you, Tessa π As you know I re-read quite a lot, but weirdly, I haven’t re-read the HP books, except through a couple of the audiobooks!
The Vanished Days sounds really interesting. I don’t know a huge amount of Scottish history so I might search this one out.
Janette, I haven’t read a great deal about Scottish history either, and I have high hopes for this one as Susanna Kearsley is one of my favourite authors π
Sheβs not an author Iβve come across before
Iβve just bought The Winter Seaπ
Ooo I do hope you will enjoy The Winter Sea! π€π
Iβm planning to use a book by Tim Chester for Lent! Iβm currently reading In the Sanctuary of Outcasts by Neil White for my book club. Itβs very good.
Kelly, I don’t know In the Sanctuary of Outcasts by Neil White, but I hope you’re enjoying and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I also pray you will find Tim Chester’s book helpful in preparing for Easter – Last year, I read Forgiven by Tim Chester for Lent! π
The illustrated version of Harry Potter is one of the most beautiful books ever, happy reading π
Thank you, Vero π The illustrations really are stunning in these editions!
The Vanished Days sounds good!
It certainly does doesn’t it?! I have high hopes for it, because Kearsley is one of my favourite authors π
The Vanished Days sounds so interesting. I enjoy historical fiction about royalty.
So do I, Cassie and I have high hopes for this one, as Kearsley is one of my favourite authors π
I love a good re-read of a beloved book or series! I wish I didn’t have quite so many books I “should” read because of NetGalley because some good ol’ comfort reading might be just the thing π
Thank you for visiting back, Karen π I do love a re-read, but I am woefully behind on my NetGalley reading! π I hope you will find some time to squeeze in some re-reads too.
