Good morning, fellow bookworms. It is ‘Hump Day’ Wednesday which means we are halfway through the working week (if you’re at work) and it is time for WWW Wednesday! A weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, which simply involves answering the following Three Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
– Currently Reading –
The Cottingley Secret by Hazel Gaynor (2017) – The dual-narrative, historical-fiction that reimagines the real life events surrounding the famous ‘Cottingley Fairies’ photograph. So far, this is a really lovely tale which is easily sweeping me along with the mystery and magic of it all. 🧚♀️
The Hairy Bikers’ One Pot Wonders by Si King & Dave Myers (2019) – A new cookbook from my favourite cooks (I already own ALL of their Hairy Dieters cookbooks). This one is a great selection of recipes celebrating the simple joys of one pot cooking, which is my favourite type of cooking! 🥘
Holy Bible – I have continued working my way through the gospel of John in the New Testament, and now that we’re on the school’s summer break, I have been able to start checking back in with my church’s Morning Prayer livestreams, where we have been dipping in and out of 1 Samuel, Luke and the Psalms
– Recently Finished –
Kim by Rudyard Kipling (1901) ** – Firstly, I finished reading this classic adventure that, out in the balmy sunshine, transported me back to the exotic, melting pot of India during the British Raj, where we follow the antics of the young, Irish orphan, Kim after he befriends an aged Tibetan lama. A good escapist read for my tired brain.
In the last week, I also posted my reviews for the helpful, Christian non-fiction, More Than A Carpenter by Josh McDowell & Sean McDowell and the moving historical-fiction, Jane Seymour: The Haunted Queen by Alison Weir. Please check these out if you haven’t already. Thank you! 😊
– Reading Next –
Having returned to and perused over my possibles list for my 10 Books of Summer Reading Challenge 2020, I think it is high-time for another fun investigation with Agatha Raisin and the Wizard of Evesham by M.C. Beaton – The eighth book in Beaton’s long-running, cosy-crime series.
Now over to you: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next?
Also please leave a link to your WWW posts in the comments, so I can come check them out, too!
“The Hairy Bikers’ One Pot Wonders” is quite a title. Although, these meals sound so quick and convenient and it sounds just like what I need. xD Agatha Raisin and the Wizard of Evesham sounds like a fun one to pick up soon! Hope you enjoy it.
Just read Driftwood which was unique, unusual and strangely thought provoking. Now reading Stoker’s Wilde which is excellent so far and next up is No.2 in the same series.
Lynn 😀
Great to hear you’re enjoying your reading so much, Lynn and even better when you next book in the series lined up to read. Happy reading! 😃
